Opened in 1998, Medusa addresses the need to today's modern traveller for a contemporary hotel in Sydney. No element has been omitted in the effort to meet the needs of the guest in this early 1900's grand heritage mansion that in the new millennium now presents a dramatic blend of the legendary and the cutting edge. Medusa has received numerous awards for its interior architecture and personalised service including Gourmet Traveller where it received the prize for Innovation in Travel and National Geographic Traveler which included the hotel in the Best of Sydney. Medusa was chosen by Wallpaper Navagator as the place to stay in Sydney and it was voted by the international travel bible, Condé Nast Traveller as - "one of the coolest hotels of the 21st Century". Proprietors Terry and Robert Schwamberg were determined to create Sydney's first contemporary and luxury boutique hotel with the introduction of Medusa. With the appointment of award winning Sydney architect, Scott Weston who has since received further architectural and design awards for this stylish hotel, Medusa is a Sydney institution, popular with the creative set from advertising, film, fashion and design.
