Altamont Hotel

The building that is now the Altamont was modeled on the first Government House built in the city in 1789. Recently renovated by award winning architect Furio Valich to provide luxury boutique style hotel accommodation, the original Colonial Georgian mansion has been preserved where possible whilst giving the whole building a post modernist edge.

The reception located in the main entrance area with its glass walls and skylights is open from 08.0 to 20.00 hours. Arrangements will be made for guests arriving outside these opening times, therefore it is important to indicate estimated arrival time at hotel.

Guests can relax on the large rooftop terrace filled with plants and garden furniture.

The very casual, but licensed Diamond Lounge Bar has comfortable leather seats and lounges, newspapers and magazines and a billiard table. A selfserve buffet-style continental breakfast is included in the room rate and served in the same cosy lounge.

Electricity adaptors/ transformers and irons can be provided on request. The helpful reception can also make arrangements for baby sitting services, secreterial services, car, bike or motorbike rentals, local excursions and is happy to make guests aware of special events happening in Sydney.

Limited car parking is available at nearby sister hotel The Kirketon.

An internet kiosk and a public phone are available in the common area. A small guest laundry can be found on the roof top terrace.

The Diamond Lounge Bar with its leather seats and lounges is the perfect place to relax, meet fellow travellers, read the daily newspapers or watch what is happening in the street on the other side of the huge glass walls.
